I have owned this book for years and have used it in my English classroom at our local high school. I own all of the books written by Patrick McManus and was sorry to hear of his passing in 2018. His humor is ageless and hopefully will go on forever!The characters in the book are hilarious. Rancid Crabtree and his encounter with a bobcat, Miss Bindle and her bear grease encounter, and the author's entire family and their blood sausage encounter, are my three favorites. The game warden and the hidden fish get honorable mention, and the skunk ladder is explained only briefly in this book. Strange, Patrick's dog, and Matilda Jean, his sister's tomcat, become involved in a tree climbing episode, and we learn that road hunters are the lowest form of humanity on the face of the earth.I have purchased several copies of this book and have given them as gifts to friends and students. Humor is a gift to be embraced and this book is good laughter therapy!!!!
